Peter J. Rioux 82 of Hanson died peacefully in his home Monday January 2.
Peter had served in the Navy Reserves and prior to his retirement had worked as a service manager for the Frank I. Rounds Company and as a boiler operator for South Shore Hospital.
Peter had enjoyed raising and racing his “Homing Pigeons” but his favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by his wife Teresa (Thibault) Rioux, children Sarah and husband Jeffrey Hunter of Hanson, Joanne Rioux, Peter Rioux and wife Susan and Stephanie Rioux-Bouvier all of Plymouth, grandchildren Jeffrey and his wife Christy Hunter and Christopher Hunter all of Hanson, Peter, Jillian, Jenna and Eliot Rioux and Sophia Bouvier all of Plymouth and two great grandchildren Toby and Jesse Hunter of Hanson, his siblings Charles Pendleton of Hanson, Thomas Pendleton of Rockland, Karen Eade of Texas, and the late Elaine Manning and Ruth Riddle. He was also the grandfather of the late Nathan Rioux.
His funeral service will be held Friday January 6 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Center Cemetery, Pembroke. Visiting hours will be held Thursday January 5 from 4-8 PM.
