Evelyn Ruth DeRossett Valerio, 83, of Santa Paula, CA was called home to be with her father in heaven at 4:20 am, Jan. 1, 2017. Evelyn, "Mom" as she was called by friends as well as family, was born in Morrisville, MO, to Carl Monroe DeRossett and Clara Opal Herbert DeRossestt on June 8, 1933. Evelyn is survived by sons: Ronald, Vincent, Duane (Norma), and Russell; daughters: Laura(Joe) and Cynthia; twenty grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, four nieces, and four nephews. She is preceded in death by spouse Ronald, parents Carl, Clara, and Lebern Coker, daughter Tina Ferguson, brothers Leon and Richard, sisters Shirley and Flora. Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Gary D. Wikholm and his medical staff, Dr. Anthony Walls, and the nursing staff at Ventura County Medical Center Santa Paula, and all of the family's friends who called Evelyn "Mom." Funeral services will be held at JOSEPH P REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE 757 E. Main St, Ventura, CA on Tuesday, January 10 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Carlos Monroy officiating.
