LUDLOW – Robert E. “Bob” LeHouiller, 89, of Ludlow and a longtime resident of Chicopee Falls, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, January 1, 2017. He entered into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Lawrence on March 24, 1927, a beloved son of the late Aime and Evelina (Demers) LeHouiller. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield. He had lived in Chicopee Falls most of his life and wintered with his wife at Molokai Park in Leesburg, FL. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and attained the rank of Hospital Apprentice First Class. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the American Area Medal. He was employed for many years at the former Fisk Tire and Rubber Company, which later became Uniroyal, in Chicopee until the closing of the plant. Active in his Catholic faith, he was a communicant of the former Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls. He served his parish as a Greeter, Lector, Collector and was in the first class of Eucharistic Ministers for the Parish. He was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart, the Parent Teachers Group and also was an Associate of the Sisters of the Assumption. Following the closing of his beloved church, he became a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and Saint Elizabeth Catholic Community at Saint John the Baptist Church in Ludlow. Above all, he loved all his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, M. Martha (Boule) LeHouiller. They were married on October 2, 1948 at Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 68 years of happiness together. He also leaves his 11 loving children, Madeleine Bragga and her husband, James, of Ludlow, Gerald LeHouiller and his partner, Irene Leitao, of Enfield, CT, Denise Cusson and her husband, Joe, of Leesburg, FL, Anne Marie Bussolini and her husband, Mark, of Old Orchard Beach, ME, Robert LeHouiller of Holyoke, Raymond LeHouiller and his wife, Karen, of Chicopee, Francis LeHouiller and his wife, Jackie, of Chicopee, Mark LeHouiller of Tulsa, OK, Pauline Pietras and her husband, Steve, of Chicopee, Michelle Annecchiarico and her husband, Pat, of Ludlow and Norm LeHouiller of Westfield; his two loving former daughters-in-law, Laurie Mazzetti of Longmeadow and Robin Gage of Chicopee; his 19 cherished grandchildren; his six cherished great-grandchildren; his dear brother-in-law, Jean George Boule and his wife, Eleanor, of Chicopee; his many dear caregivers, most especially Kathy; and his many friends and extended members of the LeHouiller, Boule and Boulay families. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear brother-in-law, Robert Boulay and his wife, Lorraine. His funeral will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. Noon at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial with United States Navy Military Honors will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located at the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
