Obituary

Crimmins, Joanie Marie, passed away Thursday, December 29th surrounded by her loving family at University Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She was born November 18, 1955 in Louisville, KY to Ted and Gladys Crimmins. She was one of six sisters and grew up on the famous Wilart Drive. She attended St. Matthias Elementary School and Butler High School. Joanie worked at various restaurants before she began her career at the Hall of Justice as a Court Clerk and worked there for 25 years until her retirement.
Joanie – also known as “Mama Jojo” - was loved by her family and friends. Her contagious smile and funny jokes always brightened up a room. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her TV shows and never missed The Price Is Right or WWE wrestling.
Joanie is preceded in death by her loving father, Ted Crimmins; her nephew, Scott Crowder; and her brother-in-law, Dennis Crowder.
She is survived by her daughter, Brittany Crimmins (Aaron); Bobby Bevars; grandchildren, Andriana, Carter and Braylee Nash; mother, Gladys Crimmins; sisters, Debbie Davis (Larry); Cathy Clardy (Ronnie); Denise Turner (Gary); Diane Wilson (Jerry); and Lynn Hasson (Paul); niece and caregiver, Jessica Crowder, and her children Kiauna and Kelise Crowder, and Noah Moreland. Joanie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her very much.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Brown Cancer Center and University of Louisville Hospital who took such good care of her, especially Dr. Krem.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4th at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with cremation to follow.
Memorial donations can be made to the Brown Cancer Center in Joanie’s name.
