Charlie Gibson
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, December 31, 2016, Mr. Charles B. Gibson, Sr., 95, loving husband of Oneida R. Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was a member of The Hill Baptist Church and of the Youngblood Sunday School Class. He was a Deacon and sang in the choir. Mr. Gibson was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an excellent golfer and was a member of the Forest Hills Senior Group.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his sons: Charles “Bo” Gibson, Jr. of Augusta, Jamie Gibson (Cindy) of Macon, and Brian Gibson of Augusta; daughter: Jan Sutton (Al) of Augusta; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at The Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Jones and Rev. Fred Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
