HADLEY/SPENCER: Yvette Jeanette (Gregoire) Laprade, 93, of Hadley and longtime resident of Spencer, MA went gently into that good night on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016. Yvette passed peacefully, comfortable in her home and in the loving embrace of family.
Yvette was the beloved matriarch of 10 children, 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was born in Spencer, the daughter of Arthur and Marion (Comeau) Gregoire. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Alfred Herve Laprade in 2005, whose spirit now surely rejoices in their reunion.
Yvette was strong and kind. She was a wise and potent woman who worked both hard and smart and who delighted in creating innovation and efficiencies in the complex enterprise of raising her large extended family. She respected the value of things and she knew, from her heart, the sacredness of life. She was a savvy lady, a person of good character, and a guiding force for her family throughout their lives.
Yvette will be missed. She will be always loved. May the memories of her inspire us, as her example did in life, to love, be kind and grow wise.
At her request, no funeral services are planned at this time. Burial was in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer, under the care of the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Messages of condolence can be left at www.morinfuneralhomes.com
