Joseph William Omogrosso, 66, of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Boston, MA on March 9, 1950 a son of the late Paula (Gallo) Omogrosso.
Joseph worked as a Bus Driver for the MBTA. He loved stand-up comedy, drumming, free hand art and drawing. He also enjoyed learning new languages, all of which were self-taught. Joseph was a man of many characters who was very sociable and could befriend anyone. He will be remembered for his wonderful personality, being the jokester of the family and for being an amazing big brother.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Claire (Moriarty) Omogrosso; sisters, Dolores Giannini and Beth Oliveira and her husband Danny; brother-in-law, Paul Moriarty and his wife Janet; sisters-in-law Patricia Murphy and her husband, Paul and Sheila Young; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his good friend, Paul Bartalamia and his beloved animals, Stormy and Miss Frise. In addition to his mother, Joseph was also predeceased by his siblings, Peter Giannini, Carmen Jannini, Mary Ann Dargon, Phyllis Gill and Robert Giannini.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours were held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Memorial Service followed at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
