Obituary

Reginald Albert Royster Sr, better known as "Reggie", 62, of New Bedford, transitioned on December 29, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born October 20, 1954 in Bronx, New York, Reginald was the third child, and second son, to the late Albert and Zenobia (Barnhill) Royster.

Reggie was known for always dressing in his fancy formal suited up attire, and singing his favorite classics like "Imagination" or "My Girl" by the Temptations. He was a jokester with a huge heart of gold. During his final 6 months of his battle his niece, Renee Z. Andrews, child of Eldest sister Denise Andrews cared for him almost everyday in the comfort of his home, making sure he had company, took his medications and got up and danced and sang the way he always did as if he wasn't battling cancer. This man has made an impact on several lives and his memory will forever live on in many hearts.

He is survived by three children; two grandchildren; four siblings, Denise Andrews, Dennis Royster, Roberta Thees and Robert Royster; his nieces and nephews; his great nieces and nephews, great-great niece and great-great nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit. Visitiation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9 - 11 AM, prior to the Service.
