Gilberte G. (Maurais) Roy, 91, of Berlin, passed away on Friday December 30, 2016 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was born in Berlin on December 7, 1925 the daughter of Edouard and Odilla (Jacques) Maurais and was a lifelong resident. Gilberte was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and the Ladies of St. Anne. She was a seamstress, enjoyed tending her flower garden and loved making scarfs for family and friends. Family gatherings were very important to Gilberte and she loved spending time with her grandsons Shawn, Corey and Aaron and great grandson, Kolby.
Family includes her daughters Suzanne Fournier of Sarasota, FL, Priscille Goulette and husband Michael of Berlin, NH and Colette Lowe and husband Darrell of Berlin, NH: grandchildren Shawn Fournier and wife Tanya of Laconia, NH and Aaron Goulette and fiancée Meg Stone of Concord, NH; great grandson Kolby Fournier; sisters Jeanne Nadeau of Berlin, Theresa Godin and husband Romeo of Berlin, Marguerite Coulombe of Berlin and Florence Roy of Berlin; sister-in-law Lucille Maurais of Cannan, VT; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Sylvio J. Roy, her grandson Corey Fournier and siblings Marie Dupuis, Alphonse Maurais, Blandine Maurais, Irene Langlais, and Albert Maurais.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 3, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Russian City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
