Belmont-------Robert Lionel Snow 86, of Perkins Road, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born October 24, 1930 in Laconia, son Lionel and Delima (LaRoche) Snow. He worked for New England Telephone Company for over 35 years and later worked for Chichester Phone Company for 5 years. Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1949-1952.
Robert was a race car driver, his passion was to be behind the wheel. He enjoyed racing super modified, dirt track and ice racing. Robert also liked to play horseshoes, snowmobiling, fishing and his road trips to Alaska. He was also a daring ski jumper and helped train boxers for the golden gloves. Because Robert came from a musical family, he loved being around his family and hearing them play music together and sing.
Robert was also a proud Yankees Fan.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Barbara (Soucy) Snow; 3 sons, Steve Snow and his wife Roya of Gilmanton, Matthew Snow and his wife, Nancy of Belmont and Timothy Snow and his wife Cherie of Sanbornton; 3 daughters, Laurie Snow of Belmont, Michelle Snow of Loudon and Barbara Farrell and her husband, Jim of Tilton; 11 grandchildren, Thomas, Jaclyn, Amanda, Jillian, Jacob, Makenzie, Alec, Hannah, Chris, Melissa and Nicole ;2 great-grandchildren, Mya and Nevaeh and a daughter-in-law, Kim Snow of Laconia. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his first wife, Beverly (Romprey) Snow, a son Peter Snow and a sister, Pauline Rhodes.
Robert will affectionately be remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Grumpy" , he will be dearly missed.
Calling hours will be held Friday, December 30 , 2016 from 4:00-5:00pm at the Beane Conference Center, 35 Blueberry Lane, Laconia, NH.
A Celebration of his life will follow at the Beane Conference Center at 5:00pm.
