Benjamin John LaPuma of Medford died on Thursday, December 22, in Stuart, Florida. A lifelong Medford resident, he was the son of the late Vito and Antoinette (Palumbo) LaPuma. Benjamin proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War, and worked for 30 years as an electrical design engineer at the Navy Shipyard in Boston. He traveled all over the world, and headed the battleship recommission during the Reagan-Era.
Benjamin was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Fasano), and the devoted father of Deborah LaPuma Khaksari and her husband Shahriar of Weston. He was the loving grandfather of Bijan Khaksari of New York City, and Je'an Khaksari of Miami. Benjamin was predeceased by 7 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, December 30 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Thursday, December 29, from 4 through 8 PM.
