Obituary


Worcester: Eleanor Jean (Helsel) Murphy-Boudreau, 92, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Homestead Hall. She leaves her husband Roland Beaudreau; 2 sons- Barry Murphy of Worcester and Keith Murphy of CA; a daughter Ellen O'Brien and her husband Joseph of CA; a daughter-in-law Alice Murphy of Charlton; 6 grandchildren- William Murphy, Kelly Murphy, Kristina Dunlavey, John Murphy, Amanda Murphy, and Brady Murphy; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Burke Murphy of 40 years, and by 6 siblings.

Eleanor, or "Jean" as she was affectionately known, was born in PA, daughter of the late Greer and Gladys (Saxion) Helsel. She graduated from Apollo High School in PA and worked for the FBI in Washington DC during WWII. She later moved to Worcester, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the former Thom McAnn Company. She was an active member of the former St. Margaret Mary's Church, enjoyed traveling, nature, flowers, reading, playing cards and games, doing word search puzzles, and spending time with family. Her love, light and beauty graced all those around her.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Homestead Hall for the compassionate care given to Eleanor during her time there.
