Obituary

Sanbornton------Michael Alan Otis 63, of Upper Bay Road, Died suddenly, Sunday, December 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was born October 20, 1953 in Berlin, New Hampshire, son to the late Phillip Albert and Delysia (Rainbow) Otis. He worked as a screen printer for a number of years for Freedom of Expression and later worked for Lakes Region Hospital as a courier for some 15 years. Michael became Scout Master when his son was in the Boy Scouts and continued his service when his grandson become a Boy Scout, both in Laconia and Sanbornton. He later aided in starting the Sanbornton Youth League, having even helped with building the field.

Michael also was active in his church, having been a Sunday School teacher for 25 years and later becoming a Deacon at Mountain View Church of Sanbornton. He enjoyed sports, politics, camping, the outdoors and hiking. Having hiked many of the White Mountain's 4,000 footers. Michael was also an artist, primarily with wood carving and painting.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Annette M. (Bedard) Otis of Sanbornton, a son, Daniel Otis and his wife, Kisha of Belmont; two daughters, Kelly Otis and her significant other Kosta Giannos of Berlin, Kathryn Otis and her significant other, Seth Dobbins of Plaistow; four grandchildren, Yioti "Peter" Giannos, Benjamin Otis, Dakota Otis and Samuel Otis; a brother, Roger Otis of Long Beach, CA; a sister, Rosemary Roberts of Enfield; a sister-in-law, Carol Otis of Shelburne and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his two brothers, Lawrence and Christopher Otis.

Calling hours will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-SImoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00am at Mountain View Church of Sanbornton, 322 Upper Bay Road Sanbornton, NH.

Burial will be in the family lot at Union Cemetery, Sanbornton in the spring.
