WORCESTER-Theresa D. (Toloczko) York, 80, of 56 Flagg Street, died Saturday, August 20th in UMass Memorial Hospital after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She leaves her husband of 59 ½ years Alphonse G. York and a brother Raymond D. Toloczko of Worcester. She also leaves many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, great-grand nephews and nieces. Her brother Francis Toloczko, and 5 sisters; Genevieve Hedge, Mary Kuzmicki, Julia Dziejma, Gladys Paige and Rita Mitchell predeceased her.
She was born in Leicester, the daughter of Gregory and Julia (Oleski) Toloczko, and had lived in Leicester and Worcester for many years. Mrs. York was educated in the Leicester School System and graduated from Becker Junior College with an Associate Degree in Medical Secretarial. She was employed as a secretary and Personal Administrative Assistant at Reed Rolled Thread and Die Company in Holden for 38 years. Mrs. York was a member of Christ the King Church. She was a very congenial, compassionate and hospitable person, and derived great pleasure when at the keys of her piano and electric organ. She and her husband traveled extensively, with trips to Hungary, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Majorca, Algeria, the Hawaiian Islands, Mexico, the Virgin Islands, Canada, Puerto Rico, Bermuda and most of the United States.
The funeral is Wednesday, August 24th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 23rd from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Odd Fellows Home, 104 Randolph Road, Worcester, MA 01606, or the St. Francis Home, 101 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
