Obituary

James Curtis Johnson, 101, of Anderson, died December 26, 2016 at Lindberg Crossing, after a brief illness.

He was born December 14, 1915 in Cullman County, Alabama the son of George W. and Nettie (Shirley) Johnson.

He retired as a tool and die maker at Delco Remy Division of General Motors Corp.

He was a member of Park Place Church of God, where he served as usher for 33 years.

Survivors include his sons, James Clyde (Julie) Johnson and Kenneth (Bonnie) Johnson and his daughter, Linda (David) Knisley, his sister, Hilda Tant, several grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Lela" (Price) Johnson whom he married October 16, 1937 in Cullman, AL; his parents, two brothers and five sisters.

Service will be at noon on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Park Place Church of God with Rev. Phil Bruzzese officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at the church

Memorial contributions may be given to Park Place Church of God Food Pantry.
