Theodore J. O'Brien, 66, of Center Barnstead, NH, died Thursday, August 18, 2005 in the West Roxbury VA Hospital, Boston, MA following a lengthy illness. Mr. O'Brien was born in Danvers, MA on July 25, 1939, a son of the late Edward T. and Mary L.(Grondon) O’Brien. He was a resident of Center Barnstead for the past 6 years, formerly living in Derry, NH for more than 27 years. He served in the US Navy. He loved gardening, fishing and partying with his children and family. He lived well and enjoyed life.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Roberta (LeBlanc) O'Brien of Center Barnstead, eight children, Joseph T. O’Brien and his wife Elizabeth of Derry, Betty Trainor and her husband Brendan of Malden, MA, Debbie Simblist and her husband Rick of Effingham, NH, Theodore J. O’Brien Jr. and his wife Diane of Northwood, NH, Tracey O’Brien of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tammy Duggan of Derry, Randy O’Brien and his wife Carole of Center Barnstead and Scott O’Brien and his wife Sarah of Center Barnstead, 23 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one brother, Edward O’Brien of Chichester, NH, two sisters, Jean Theriault of Salem, MA and Marie Vernazzaro of Beverly, MA, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Christina O'Brien in 1999 and by two brothers, Robert T. O'Brien and Henry O'Brien.
Following cremation, a visitation was held on Wednesday August 24th from 9:15 - 10:15am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St.,Derry with a mass of Christian burial that was celebrated at 11:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry.
