Jefferson “J.W.” Ivey, age 77, died Friday, December 23, 2016 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born June 19, 1939 in Baldwin, MS to the late William Wesley and Sigal Carroll Ivey. Jefferson served in the United States Army and was a retired farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and playing with his grandchildren.
Jefferson is survived by his wife, Elaine Bowers Ivey of Water Valley, MS; three daughters, Sherry Ivey of Lincoln, IL, Tonya Douglas of Bradley, IL, and Elaina White of Savannah, TN; five sons, Jeff Ivey and Charles Ivey both of Water Valley, MS, William Ivey of McKinney, TX, John Douglas and Jason Ivey, both of Water Valley, MS; his sister, Linda Lowrey of McGee, MS; his brother, George Ivey of Stover, MO; and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Fazio.
