Beverly Helms, 75, of Brookfield passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016, at her residence. A private service and burial will be held for Mrs. Helms at a later date. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born August 31, 1941 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Helms was the daughter of the late Harry Haven and Eva Foot Haven. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Haven and a sister, Roxanne Swift. She was self-employed and was known as Beverly "The Pool Lady" Incorporated and loved working on swimming pools and the people she served. She loved to take care of her family, which she loved dearly. She loved bird-watching and working in her flower beds.
Mrs. Helms is survived by her husband, George Hoyt Helms, Sr. of Brookfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Carl Henry Helms of Brookfield and George Hoyt Jr. and Nancy Helms of Eldorado (Lake Larry); two daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa Jean and Keith Futch of Eldorado and Buffy Jo and Larry Giles of Maryland; two sisters, Marilyn Irwin and Linda Maves, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Amber Nicole and Don Bruner, Jacob Helms, Ryan and Rachael Futch, Audra Futch, Dustin Kyle and Terri Smith, Meagan Michelle and J. J. Scarberry and Zachary Tyler and Amanda Simpson; and nine great-grandchildren, Logan Kyle Scarberry, Lane Tyler Simpson, Easton Smith, A. J. Bruner, Lexi Bruner, Owen Bruner, Jarred Bruner, Amelia Grace Stalnaker and Allana Burchett.
