David A. Bettencourt, Sr., age 67, of Swansea, passed away on December 23, 2016 at Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River.
He was the beloved husband of Sharon (English) Bettencourt.
David was born in Fall River a son of the late Eugene and Lucy (Desmarais) Bettencourt.
Before retiring in 2001, David was employed with Dave’s Boiler Works and R.J. Sanders Boiler Service in Warren, RI. Mr. Bettencourt enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, and would always help a friend in need. He will be missed by many.
Besides his loving wife Sharon, David is survived by his children, David A. Bettencourt, Jr of Taunton, Jeffrey P. Thrasher of Seekonk, John W. Daigle of Taunton, Robert A. Daigle of Berkley, Tina Marie Souza, Silvana Lisa Bettencourt and Christina Ann Bettencourt all of Taunton, brother of Paul G. Bettencourt of Rehoboth, Rose Mary Baggson of MO and Theresa M. Weeks of So. Attleboro. He also leaves many grand and great-grandchildren and he was the brother of the late Eugene Bettencourt.
Mr. Bettencourt’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church 499 Spring St., North Dighton.
Interment will follow in Rehoboth Village Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway in Taunton.
