Frank E. Bond
Retired Mitre Electrical Engineer

TEWKSBURY: Frank Edward Bond, age 84, a resident of Tewksbury for 8 years, formerly of Chelmsford and Somerville, passed away unexpectedly at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus on Friday, December 23, 2016
.
He was the beloved husband of Pauline F. (Howley) Bond, with whom he celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on October 1, 2016.

Born in Somerville on August 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Frank Bond, Jr. and the late Mary(Fougere) Bond.

Frank was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1950. He later attended Northeastern University, where he received his B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering.

In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Frank was awarded several decorations for his active duty service including the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an Electrical Engineer by the Mitre Corporation in Bedford. Frank previously worked for G.T.E. and C.C.N. in Weston.

He was a member of the Billerica Moose Club.

Frank was an avid Boston sports fan. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his family at their summer home in Wiscasset, Maine.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Scott C. Bond of Hudson, NH and Holly M. Martineau and her husband David of Tewksbury; four grandchildren, Derek and Kyle Bond, and Nicole and Jason Martineau; one sister, Nancy Bond of Reading and Somerville; one brother, George A. Bond of Billerica; also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Frank was the brother of the late Lorraine J. (Bond)Thorup and the late Joseph L. Bond.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will begin Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or mailed to American Cancer Society, P.O.
