Alan J. Wooding 76, of Wrentham, died peacefully, Saturday November 12, 2016 at the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge, following an illness.
Born January 24, 1940 in Boston, a son of the late Theodore F. Wooding, Sr. and Gertrude E. (Colwill) Wooding, he was a longtime Wrentham resident.
He was raised and educated in Westwood and worked for the Town of Westwood Department of Public Works, until becoming a truck driver for a local construction company.
He enjoyed camping, sitting by the fire, spending time with his family, dancing, listening to country music and doing Thomas Kinkade jigsaw puzzles which he then framed and placed in his home. He also loved cooking and decorating for Christmas and Halloween.
Alan is survived by his children, Brian A. Wooding of Wrentham, Alan J. Wooding Jr., of Rhode Island and Danielle L. Wooding of Athol, his siblings, Theodore F. Wooding, Jr. of Wrentham, Robert B. Wooding of Douglas, Stephen P. Wooding of Wrentham, Douglas A. Wooding of Wrentham, Kevin G. Wooding of Woonsocket, Barbara R. McKay of O'Fallon, Ill., Jacqueline S. Ryan of Sterling and Elaine M. Cameron of Mendon. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
He was the brother of the late Dorothy A. Richards and Patricia M. Beksha.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Saturday November 19, at 10AM in St. Mary's Church 130 South St. Wrentham.
His interment will be held privately.
