Kenneth F. Vozzella 82, a longtime Foxboro resident, died Saturday November 19, 2016 at the Maples Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, following an extended period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Delores (Goodman) Vozzella.
Born in Franklin, February 20, 1934 a son of the late Marino and Irene E. (Thibodeau) Vozzella, he was raised and educated in Franklin and was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School. While in high school, he was known for his smile, and named most likely to own a Ford dealership.
Mr. Vozzella was the retired store manager for the Aubuchon Hardware store in Foxboro, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was known to everyone around town and was an avid golfer, Red Sox & Patriots fan, and enjoyed bowling. He also played softball at Fletcher Field in Franklin in his youth.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Kenneth attained the rank of Aviation Boatswain's Mate Airman, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged in February 1955, after serving more than 3 years.
He is survived by a son, Troy M. Vozzella of Pennsylvania, 2 daughters, Tracee A. White and her husband Tom of Southbridge & Kellie M. Vok and her husband Tom of Collegeville, PA, 2 brothers, Donald Vozzella of Plainville, Norman "Buddy" Vozzella of Milford, 2 sisters, Roberta "Bobbie" Gotovich of Bellingham, Nancy A. Carlucci of East Sandwich, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Saturday Nov. 26th, at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Square Franklin. Calling hours will be held at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. on Saturday from 9-10:30AM prior to the Mass.
Interment with military honors will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin at a later date.
