Eleanor M. (DeLucia) Vipraio 94, of Milford, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died peacefully, Monday December 5, 2016 at home following an illness. She was the wife of the late Patrick V. Vipraio, who died in 1973 and the late Andrea P. Iacono, who died in 2003.
Born February 23, 1922, in Franklin, a daughter of the late Ralph and Amelia (Diodati) DeLucia, she was a resident of Milford since 2011.
Eleanor was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a member of the Franklin High School Class of 1940. She was a retired supervisor for the former Benjamin Franklin Savings Bank.
She was the center of her family, always wanting to spend time with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Melbourne, Florida during the winter months, was a member of St. Mary's Church, Franklin and in her younger days playing for the Clip-N-Curl softball team. Eleanor was a devoted and loyal follower of the Boston Red Sox and would watch every game on television.
She is survived by a son, Paul J. Vipraio and his wife Mary of Franklin, a daughter, Patrice M. "Patsy" Samsel and her husband Preston of Milford, 4 grandchildren, Paul J. Vipraio, Jr. and his wife Tara of Shrewsbury, Lisa M. McDermott of Franklin, Todd C. Samsel of New York, Andrea L. Burkowske and her husband Carl of Uxbridge & 5 great grandchildren, Kylie, Emily, Paul Vipraio, III & Maegan and Patrick McDermott. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews.
She was the sister of the late Lillian Abbott, Frances DeBaggis, Ralph DeLucia, Frank DeLucia and Albert DeLucia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday Dec. 12th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM.
Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Sunday Dec. 11th, from 1-5PM.
