Obituary

Robert Joseph Wolfe Sr., "Bob", age 86, a longtime resident of Norwood and later of Franklin, died peacefully with family by his side, on Saturday, Dec 10th.

Devoted husband of Jacqueline M. (Curley); beloved father of Robert Wolfe Jr. and his wife Michele of Hampstead, NH; Kevin Wolfe of Franklin, MA; Jane Kay and her husband Scott of Franklin, MA and Daniel Wolfe of Hudson, MA; proud grandfather to Joseph Wolfe, Casey Wolfe, Jessica Wolfe, Matthew Wolfe, Erin, Wolfe, Cara Wolfe, Nathaniel Kay and Trevor Kay.

Bob, born in Boston in 1930, was the only child of the late Abraham Joseph Wolfe and Eleanor Kathleen (Buckley) Wolfe. He was raised and educated in Boston and graduated Commerce High School In 1950.

In 1949, Bob had enlisted in the Navy where he served from December 1948 to July 1949. In 1951, he enlisted in the Army and then also the National Guard where he served as a Sergeant till his discharge in February of 1954.

Bob was a graduate of Bentley College, and worked as an accountant until his retirement. Bob, a devoted family man, celebrated his 59th wedding anniversary this past June. He attended mass regularly at St. Timothy's Parish in Norwood and St. Jude's Church in Norfolk. He particularly enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the Franklin Senior Center, and he especially enjoyed calling the numbers for Bingo. Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved baseball all his life. Bob was a Boston Braves fan as well as a Red Sox fan and he attended World Series games with his father at Fenway Park for each team in 1946 (Red Sox) and 1948 (Boston Braves).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Thursday, December 15, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square at 10AM.

Interment with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Calling hours are Wednesday, December 14 from 4-8PM.
