James "Demetrios" Kaloroumakis, age 87, passed away on Dec. 22, 2016 at Wingate of West Springfield. He was born on Sept. 9, 1929 in Chicopee, a son of the late John and Kaliope (Delakis) Kaloroumakis. James served in the US Marine Corps and was a Korean War Veteran. He later worked for Smith and Wesson in the maintenance dept for over 20 years before he retired. James was a communicant of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Holyoke. He served for many years as a sexton and was also the president of the parish council under Father Harry Vulopas. He leaves his loving wife Victoria (Zaferopoulos) Kaloroumakis of Chicopee; 1 son, Jeffrey Kaloroumakis and his wife Maria of Ludlow; 1 daughter, Janet Maynard and her husband James of Chicopee; 1 brother Peter Kalmakis of Gloucester; 2 sisters, Frieda Kaloroumakis of Springfield and Betty Socha and her husband David of Ludlow; his grandchildren, John and his wife Evelyn, Rebecca and her husband Nick, Danielle and her husband Paul, Catherine and her husband Deshawn, Jeffrey and his companion Jenn and Ashley and her husband Luis; his great grandchildren, Leo James, Penelope Rose, Paul III, James, Bella, Alondra, Gabriel, Uriel and David. He also leaves his nephew Lance Walsh and his wife Sandra, and his niece Marla Walsh along with many other nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Constantine, George and Emanuel and also by his sister Lula. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Dec. 26th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee and also on the morning of the funeral from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27th at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 410 Main St, Holyoke, MA., followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery.
