Donald E. Hilliard, 84 of Derry, NH died Thursday December 22, 2016 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. Mr. Hilliard was born in Derry on May 8, 1932 a son of the late Sidney and Doris (Berry) Hilliard. He was a 1950 graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry. Mr. Hilliard served with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict stationed in Japan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the great outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn J. (Gerry) Hilliard of Derry, one son, Michael E. Hilliard and his wife Beverly of Japan, two grandsons, Ian and his wife Britteny of Boise, ID, and Jayson and his wife Brandi of Tacoma, WA, three great-grandchildren, Deegan, Tyler, and Sophia all of Boise, ID, one sister, Betty Bernier of Derry, three brothers, Richard Hilliard and his wife Loreen of Pembroke, NH, Robert Hilliard and his wife Sue of Londonderry, NH, and David Hilliard and his wife Kerstin of Virginia. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Godboise.
Calling hours were held on Thursday December 29, 2016 from 9 – 11 am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services followed at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial was held in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Pinkerton Academy Alumni Center, 5 Pinkerton St., Derry, NH 03038.
