Olga F. (Kostandin) Anastas, of Somerville, died Friday morning at home surrounded by a loving family. She was 88.
Born in Albania, Olga was the daughter of the late Filip and the late Johana (Roshanji) Kostandin. She came to the United States when she was 17 and settled in Somerville. A dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Olga was an active woman who enjoyed the company of family and friends. She was dedicated to her parish and belonged to the Teele Sq. Senior Citizens Club.
She was the beloved wife of the late Rafael N. Anastas. She was a devoted mother to Shirley Thistle and her husband William of Woburn, John R. Anastas and his wife Mary of Stoneham, the late Margaret Jordhamo-Munroe. She was a loving grandmother to Phillip N. Jordhamo and his companion Julie Budra, Marc W. Thistle and his wife Dawn, Stacy Thistle, and her fiance’ Tom Steele, John Anastas, Jr. and a dear great-grandmother of Meghan Olga Thistle and Marc W. Thistle, Jr.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Monday at 8:30 followed by a funeral service celebrated in St. John The Baptist Albanian Orthodox Church, 410 West Broadway, South Boston, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
