Robert J. Rodriques, 68, of New Bedford died December 21, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph M. and Eleanor (Roshur) Rodriques, he lived in Delaware and New Jersey before returning to New Bedford in 1990.
Mr. Rodriques was formerly employed by General Motors before retiring from DuPont.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes and riding horses.
Survivors include his daughter, Takeya Rodriques of Atlanta; 3 sisters, Rosemarie "Dolly" Bunting of Ft. Wayne, IN, Diana Costa of New Bedford and Shirley Barboza of Wareham; a granddaughter, Rhyan Burton of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.
His visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 26th from 3-7 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
