FALL RIVER – Fernando “Calado” Aguiar, age 81 of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband to Paulina (Canto) Aguiar for 56 years. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late João Oliveira Aguiar and the late Maria Trindade (Oliveira) Aguiar. Prior to retiring, Fernando worked as a Custodian for Quaker Mfg. Co. He served in the Portuguese military and was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children: Natalia Vasconcelos, Antonio Aguiar (wife Fatima), and Luis Aguiar (wife Rosa) all of Fall River; his sister: Norvinda Araujo of Fall River; his five grandchildren: Kathy Nunes, Kim Vasconcelos, Justin, Nathan, & Alexandra Aguiar; his great granddaughter: Aelyn Aguiar.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday, Dec. 27th at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
