Eva Mae Jenkins Hamilton, 81, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Tifton Health and Rehabilitation Center. A private service and burial will be held for Mrs. Hamilton at a later date.
Born August 29, 1935 in Sumner, Mrs. Hamilton was the daughter of the late Thomas Vernon Jenkins and Bessie Willis Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Rex Jenkins; and a sister, Jean Jenkins Sumner. She attended Georgia State College for Women. She was formerly an elementary school teacher at Lake Drive Elementary, now Len Lastinger Elementary and taught music at several elementary schools. After her children were born, she became a full-time homemaker. She loved her family, her pets, her home and singing. She had lived in Tifton for approximately 58 years.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Z. B. and Kristy Hamilton of Tifton; a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Rick Garber of Atlanta; and a grandson, Brett Hamilton.
