Obituary

CHICOPEE - Michael E. “Mitch” Beliveau, 60, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on June 24, 1956, a beloved son of Margaret M. (Zajchowski) Beliveau of Chicopee and the late Eugene J. “Bill” Beliveau. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee, moving to Fairview in 1993. He was employed as a machinist for many years at Spalding Sports Worldwide, which later became Top Flight and lastly Callaway Golf. During his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing, reading, history, music, solitaire, cribbage, hanging out by the pool, and camping. He was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. Most of all, he was a quiet man who loved his family and his many friends. In addition to his loving mother, he leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Susan T. (Tshonas) Beliveau. They were married on June 30, 1989 at the former Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 27 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving children, Rebecca S. Tshonas of Cambridge and Michael P. Beliveau and his partner, Ashley Boudle, of Easthampton; his dear brother, David Beliveau and his wife, Sharon, of Chicopee, his dear sister-in-law, Suzanne Beliveau of Chicopee; his dear aunt, Mary Zajchowski of Chicopee; his dear sister-in-law, Mary (Tshonas) McCormick and her husband, Timothy, of Wilbraham; his two dear brothers-in-law, John C. Tshonas and his wife, Kathi, of Brewster and Peter M. Tshonas of Ellington, CT and his fiancee, Mary Kay Knox; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended members of the Beliveau and Tshonas families. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his dear brother, William J. Beliveau who was Called Home on January 12, 2011; and his "second" best friend, Ray Benoit who was Called Home on July 4, 2015. His funeral and burial will be private at the convenience of his family. There are no visiting hours.
