Worcester - Clifton M. Handy, 65, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Sharon A. (Johnson) Handy; 3 sons, Derrick Handy, Stephen Handy and his wife Kimberly of Barre, and Timothy Handy; his mother and step-father, Ann and Michael Rana; 3 brothers, Thomas Handy and his wife Judy of NC, Richard Handy and his wife Patricia of FL, and John Handy of FL; a sister, Nancy DePatsy of Northborough, 2 grandchildren, Brayden and Silas Handy; and several cousins, and nieces & nephews including Michael Lloyd and Cynthia (Lloyd) Kelley and her husband David and their son David. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Angelina Dipietro; father-in-law, Albert Johnson; and sister-in-law, Eileen Lloyd Paine. Cliff was a wonderful and loving husband, father, son, uncle, and papa.
He was born in Clinton, son of loving parents Ann (McMahon) and the late Clifton Handy and grew up and attended school in West Boylston. Cliff was a member of St. Joan of Arc parish. He was a dedicated and devoted employee at Interstate Battery for more than 30 years and always considered himself an "Interstate Battery Man." Cliff enjoyed spending time with his family, caring for his dogs Pixie and Henry, taking care of his vehicles, vacationing and camping in Rhode Island and Big Timber Lake at the Jersey Shore. He was a kind and generous man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street on Friday, December 23. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral at 1:00 p.m.
