Lily Edna Rich, 96, of Milan passed away on Tuesday morning December 20, 2016 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin with her family by her side. She was born in Chatham Kent, England on August 1, 1920 the daughter of the late George and Emily (Moss) Briggs. She grew up in England and came to the United States in 1946. She served in the WATS in the British Army during WWII from 1941 – 1945 as a Predictor Operator on an Anti-Aircraft Battery and in 1945 she married Donald E. Rich in Heston at the Church of England. Lily worked for several years at Granite State Rubber Company as a stitcher. She was a member of the Milan Community United Methodist Church, Emily Flint Rebekah Lodge and the Rebekah Assembly of New Hampshire.
Members of the family include her husband of 71 years, Donald E. Rich of Milan, NH; a son Alan Rich of Lunenburg, VT; a daughter Susan Blais and husband Paul of Milan, NH; 1 sister, Pamela Jones of Dalbeattie, Scotland; 2 brothers William Briggs of Leicestershire, England and George Briggs of N. Carolina; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Brian E. Rich in 2011 and 2 sisters Gwen Smith and Joyce Bradfield
