Rita Mary (Cooper) Stella, 80 of Hanson, MA, ex-wife of the late Fred B. Stella, passed away on December 11, 2016 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Boston and lived in Roxbury, MA. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High in Roxbury.
Daughter of the late John J. Cooper and Mary (Hurley) Cooper of Rockland, MA.
She was the sister of Donna Brady of Middleboro, MA, Colleen Weatherby of Hanson, MA, Violet Moore of Rockland, MA, Albert Cooper also of Rockland, MA and the late John Cooper of Marston Mills, MA.
She was the beloved mother of Wayne Stella of Goose Creek, SC, Glen Stella of Cumberland, RI, Mark Sr. and Julieann Stella of Raynham, MA, Keith Stella of West Bridgewater, MA, Debora and Joseph LaFrance of Uncasville, CT, Tod and Laurie Stella of Hanover, MA, Jodi and Jay Alpert of Peru, MA, Tamra Field of Hanson, MA and Jason and Naomi Stella of East Bridgewater, MA.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many cousins, nephews and nieces, friends and so many others who called her Mom.
She resided in Hingham, MA, where she was a homemaker and SuperMom. She loved spending time with her family, friends and Grand-dogs.
She enjoyed music, dancing, bowling, camping, bingo and yard sales with her best friend, Gerry Livrago.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman and burial at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland, MA.
