John C. Rudy, a 53 year resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 80 years old.
John was born in Boston on January 27, 1936, a son of the late Michael Rudy and Sophie (Stanion) Rudy. He grew up in Hyde Park where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1953. John enlisted into the United States Navy on August 19, 1953 and served his country with courage and honor during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on January 23, 1957 with the rank of Fireman. John worked as a Coordinator for Raytheon Corporation and retired following 35 years of dedicated service.
John is the beloved husband of 53 years to Patricia (Johnson) Rudy. He is the devoted father of Annmarie Goodspeed and her husband Gary of Reading. He is the loving Papa to Morgan, Brian, Connor and Bailey. He is the beloved brother of Joseph Rudy and his wife Catherine of Avon and the late Francis Rudy and Walter Rudy and his surviving wife Peggy of Avon. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's Funeral on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 3 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
