Joseph C. Bettinelli of Hobe Sound, FL, formerly of Medford and Plymouth passed peacefully in Owensboro, KY on December 16, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born in Augusta, Sicily on June 29, 1925 to Bernardo and Francesca (Blandino) Bettinelli. Navy Veteran of WWII. Retired educator in the Medford Public Schools.
Devoted husband of 53 years to the late Mary (Chines) Bettinelli. Survived by Bernie Bettinelli of Owensboro, KY; Frances Bettinelli of Methuen, MA; Lucille Levine and her husband Mark of Pawleys Island, SC. Loving ‘Nano’ of Julia Bettinelli; Carl & Jessica Levine; Andrew & Kassie Bettinelli and Sharon & Ryan Podszus. Adoring great-grandfather to Evan Podszus. ‘Big brother’ to Frank Bettinelli of Waltham, MA, Bernard F. Bettinelli of Woburn, MA, Mary Ann Russo of Burlington, MA, Domenic Bettinelli of Southborough, MA and Josephine Schipelliti of Burlington, MA. Pre-deceased by sisters Tina Fruciano and Jenny Bramante. ‘Uncle Joe’ to many nieces and nephews, and dear friend to Marga Van Note of Hobe Sound, FL.

Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford at 11:30AM on Thursday, December 22nd. Interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, December 23rd.
