Obituary


Myrtle Corrine (Stewart) Trindall age82 of Brockton, died Saturday December 17, 2016 at West Acres Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was the devoted wife of Richard P. Trindall for 63 years.
Born in Boston and raised in Cambridge and Waltham, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Edward and Christine Stewart. She moved to Brockton in 1964. A graduate of Cambridge High School, Myrtle began a 62 year career at Start Market. At the time of her death, she had been their longest living employee and in the mid-1970s became the first woman store manager of the entire Star Market chain.
In her free time, Myrtle enjoyed sewing and knitting and loved trips to Foxwoods and Las Vegas and taking annual cruises. She will be remembered as a kind, strong woman and was a rock for anyone in need. Most importantly, Myrtle enjoyed time with her family.
Mytle is survived by her two daughters Janet L. Mackin of Orlando, FL and Lisa M. Trindall of Winter Haven, FL; two granddaughters Stacey Pena and Lindsey Mackin and one great granddaughter Penelope Corrine Pena. She was the sister of Marion Stewart of Holliston, Jenny MacPherson of Plymouth, Claire Smith of Falmouth and the late Iris Wheaton, Judy Williams, Christine Ross, Edward and John Ellis Stewart. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Tuesday 10-11am followed by a funeral service at 11. Burial in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Myrtle’s name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
