Evans, GA – Anne Smith Giles, 73, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at 2:00 pm at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Anne was born and raised in Elizabethton, Tennessee; the daughter of William and Dorothy J. Smith. Anne was educated in the Elizabethton City Schools and was a member of the Elizabethton High School Band, serving proudly as Head Majorette. She attended both ETSU and IBM Business School. Anne worked many years for United Telephone in the Elizabethton office. In 1984 she moved to Augusta, Georgia with her husband. Following the death of her husband in 2001, she moved to Knoxville to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Anne was of the Baptist faith and remained a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Georgia. She enjoyed sports, especially UT Athletics, and all kinds of puzzles and gospel music.
She was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, one brother and one husband-Raymond C. Giles.
Anne is survived by her two loving sons, Lewis Frazer III (Melissa) of Knoxville, TN and William E. Ellis of Nashville, TN. The joy of her life are her two grandsons, Andrew Lewis Frazer (Elizabeth) of Lawrence, KS and Aaron Smith Frazer of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by her loving sister, Martha J. Carter (Bob) of West Palm Beach, FL, her husband’s children, Raymond C. Giles of GA and Linda Giles of Seattle, WA as well as their children and grandchildren. Dear friends Elle Giles of GA and Donna Smith of Elizabethton as well as a host of nephews and nieces.
