Lola Kathleen "Kitty" Hale, age 85, passed away December 16, 2016 at the Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. Kitty was born January 15, 1931 to the late Benjamin Lonzo and Wilma Lee Green in Ruleville, MS. She married Lawrence Hale and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Water Valley, past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star #5 of Water Valley, was crowned Mrs. Water Valley in 1962, and was well known for her bridge playing skills and for baking cakes for family and friends. She worked as a clerk in the courthouse and was a deputy sheriff for the late L. A. Jones.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 Tuesday, December 20th, 2016 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, with the service beginning at 2:30 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Dr. Randy Bain and Bro. Keith Stevens will conduct the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Hubert Colvin, Nathan Hale, Shane Hale, Joshua Hale, Aaron Hale, and Stephen Hale. Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Fred Eakes, Larry Hart, Cam Tyler, Jimmy Murphy, Binnie Turnage, and Dr. Paul Odom. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley.
Kitty is survived by her daughter, Shelia Hale of Water Valley, MS; three sons, Larry Hale (Mary) of Gulf Breeze, FL, Mike Hale (Jeanne) of Ormond Beach, FL., and Steve Hale of Pontotoc, MS; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one step granddaughter; and a dear friend, Dianne Hale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Hale; two sisters, Geraldine Woodard and Frances Smiley; three brothers, Eugene Green, Bennie Green, and David Green; one grandson, Zachary Hale; and one step granddaughter, Michelle Holt.
