Ruth Pauline Stone, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, December 16, 2016, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia, in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, December 19, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery, in Ben Hill County. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Stone was born February 18, 1928, in Americus, Georgia, to the late John Thomas Ward Hunter & Doshia Drusilla Harrell Hunter. She lived in the community most of her life and received her bookkeeping certificate from Ben Hill Irwin Technical college. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, G.C. Stone Construction Company. Mrs. Stone loved and enjoyed working in her yards, growing flowers, cooking and canning for her family. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Brenda S. Corn & Bob of Marietta, Carol S. Mallet & Marc of Marietta and Dana S. Wilson & Bill of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Nicole Pratz & Dale of Kennesaw, Jeremy Mallet of Marietta, Kevin Wilson & Constance of Japan, Jake Wilson of Fitzgerald and Andrea Przygoda & Ben of Athens; great-grandchildren: Noah Pratz, Nicolas Pratz, both of Kennesaw and Kade Wilson and Grady Wilson of Japan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Clayton Stone; two sisters and one brother.
