Shirley L. Cruse, 77, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday December 14, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Haverhill, MA on July 11, 1939, a daughter of the late James and Alice (Fisher) McIntosh. Shirley was raised in West Newbury, MA and lived there until she married her husband who was serving in the US Air Force. They travelled extensively, moving to Alaska in 1975. She had been a resident of Derry for the past 22 years, formerly living in Seabrook, NH. She loved to paint with oil, but would also paint with acrylic from time to time.

She is survived by six children, Stillman “Bud” Brown of Tacoma, WA, Raymond Brown of Pelham, NH, Pamela Jean Latham of Portland, OR, Deneane Cruse of Lakewood, CO, Christine Cruse of Philadelphia, PA, and William Cruse of Derry, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her siblings, John H. McIntosh of NC, James McIntosh of Haverhill, MA, Robert “Bobby” McIntosh of Haverhill, MA, Eva Snow of NC, Anne Hyde of NC, Hope Dube of Hampton, NH, and Barbara Alley of Haverhill, MA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar H. Cruse, Jr. in 1997.
At Shirley’s request, there are no services scheduled at this time. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
