Mr. Joseph M. Rezendes, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 15 in the Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Linda A. (Charette) Rezendes. He was born 69 years ago in St. Michael’s, the Azores, the son of the late Louis and Virginia (Pereira) Rezendes. With his parents, Joseph immigrated to the U.S. in 1949. He was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machine operator for Boston Insulated Wire in No. Dighton for 15 years. He was previously employed at a bottling plant in Mansfield for several years, and was formerly employed at the Cochran Shoe Factory in Stoughton. Joseph served in the National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, and enjoyed fishing and dining out with his wife. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 daughter: Michelle Rezendes of Taunton; 1 brother: Mario Rezendes and his wife, Betty of Taunton; 1 sister: Bertha DaCosta and her husband, Gil of Taunton; his sisters-in-law: Alice Rezendes of Raynham and Anita Andrade of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. Joseph was also the father of the late Michael J. Rezendes, and the brother of the late Francis and Raymond Rezendes.
Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, December 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Prayer Service will follow the Visiting Hours at 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend
