Obituary

CHICOPEE – Ronald A. “Ron” Coulombe, 78, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, December 15, 2016. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on August 15, 1938, a beloved son of the late Adelard and Eva (Deslongchamps) Coulombe. He was raised in Holyoke, attended Holyoke schools and moved to Fairview in 1962. He was employed as a machinist for Reynolds Paper in Holyoke and had previously worked at Springfield Photo Mount and Cindex Industries in Ludlow. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and was also a member of the Camp Jahn Club in Southampton and the Fairview Sportsmen’s Fish and Game Club. Above all, he loved all his family and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lorraine (Gregoire) Coulombe who was Called Home on September 21, 2015. He leaves his three loving children, Robert R. Coulombe, Sr. and his wife, Claire, and Allen R. Coulombe and his wife, Kim, all of Chicopee, and Lynda M. Wheeler and her husband, Mark, of Chester; his seven cherished grandchildren, Melissa Roman and her husband, Will, Robert Coulombe, Jr. and his wife, Sarah, Corey Coulombe, Jessie Coulombe, Taylor Coulombe, Cierra Wheeler and Brie Wheeler; his two cherished great-grandchildren, Ryder and Mariah; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Coulombe and Gregoire families. He also leaves his dear friend, Phyllis A. Morin of Chicopee. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also predeceased by his two dear brothers, Roger D. Coulombe and William J. Deslongchamps; and his dear sister, Cecile Desormier. His family will receive friends on Monday morning, December 19, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. His burial will follow the prayer service at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075.
