Obituary

Gregory William Lennartz, at age 58 passed away December 14, 2016 at home with his children by his side. He was born July 13, 1958 to Thomas and Sally (Marcum) Lennartz in Yakima WA where he was raised and resided most of his life.
Greg was a hard -working man. He spent many years as an auto mechanic. In recent years, he was a carpenter and all around handy man, who was known for being able to fix anything. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anybody who needed it.
In his younger days, Greg spent several years racing cars at Yakima Speedway. He passed his passion for racing onto his son Jeremy Sr.. As soon as Jeremy was old enough, they built him a motor and car of his own. Something Greg was very proud of. He enjoyed watching football (a Green Bay Packers fan) and NASCAR. Greg was especially proud of his grand kids. He enjoyed attending their sports events, quarter midget racing, taking them horseback riding and teaching them life skills. He never missed a birthday party, family bar-b-que, or gathering. Greg also enjoyed country music and going out dancing. He was known for his famous James Brown splits. He was truly the life of the party and very much enjoyed being a single ladies man. It was very rare to see him without a cold beer in his hand.
Greg is survived by his kids Danny, Jeremy (Jamie Joe), Anngla (Eric), and Jerica Lynn (Andrew), grandchildren Zachary, Jeremy Jr, Alexxa, Alidia, Cash, Alysia, Chance, and Natalie. His Mom Sally, his brothers and sisters Joe, Tess, Mike, Anita, Kathy, Chris, George, Rich, Rob, Sheri, and Steve Calhoun. His first wife and friend Donna. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as close friends, Tim Calhoun, Eva Price, Jason Enfield, Randy Stump, Tim and Cheryl Rehfield, and Buck Buchannan.
He was preceeded in death by his dad Tom, his brother Steve, his uncle Leon and step dads Larry Karnes and Jim Calhoun, and step mom Betty Sheddy.
At Greg’s request there are no formal services planned. Instead there will be a back yard party and b-b-que/potluck to celebrate his life on Saturday January 7 at Jeremy and Jamie’s home. 2703 McCullough Rd. Yakima.
