Roland F. Higgins 81, of Taunton died December 14, 2016 in the Good Samaritan Hospital Brockton after a period of failing health. He was born, raised and educated in Brockton. He was the son of the late Milton and Lila (Eldridge) Higgins and husband of the late Mary Louise Constance “Connie” (Pomerleau) Higgins. Roland has been an Antique Dealer since 1958 and for many years has shared his time between Lockhart Texas and Massachusetts moving his antiques throughout the country. He will be remembered for his love of family and time spent with his grand and great grandchildren.
Roland is survived by his children and families; Cheryl and Tom Cormier of Framingham. Roland Jr. and Donna Higgins of W. Bridgewater, Cynthia Higgins and Donald Alger, Brenda and Wayne Morin all of Brockton and James Higgins of Taunton, his sister Sue Sappier and her companion Rubin of Canada and Roland’s companion of many years Jessie O’Brien of Lockhart, TX. He also leaves 9 grand and 8 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Sunday 2-6pm in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton. A funeral home service will be Monday at 10am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
