Mrs. Eleanor J. (Jaksta) Roberts, 95, of North Andover, Massachusetts passed away on December 12, 2016 at the Nevins Nursing Center in Methuen, MA.
She was born on April 18th, 1921 in Lawrence, daughter of the late Vincent and Anna Jaksta. Eleanor was educated in the local schools and was a 1936 graduate of the Lawrence High School. She worked for Western Electric in North Andover for some 20 years.
According to her children, she adored her family and her home more than anything else. She was an avid gardener, an accomplished painter and crafts woman, and an extremely competitive scrabble player. She loved to share the history of the family tree with her children and grandchildren. Eleanor was the wife of the late William H. Roberts and is survived by her children Katherine and Robert Bowman of Atlanta, GA, Michael Roberts of North Andover, Vincent “Tim” and Patricia Roberts of North Andover, MA, and Jerelyn Roberts of North Andover.
She also leaves her grandchildren Betsy and Jonathan Oski, Kimberly and Randy Brown, Trisha and John Bresnahan, Dr. Michael Bowman and his wife Jennifer, Matthew and Shireen Bowman, Jeffrey Bowman, Amy Roberts. 9 Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Grand Child, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Susan Saunders, William Roberts, Grandmother of the late Timothy Roberts and Sister of the late Julia Harris and Olga Blamire.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Church, Main Street, North Andover, MA. Burial will follow at the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover, MA
