Alzira (Ferreira) Camara, age 92, of Somerset, passed away on Thursday December 15, 2016. Born in Mosteiros, São Miguel Açores, she was the daughter of the late João and Maria Angela (Ferreira) Ferreira and was the wife of the late Domingos De Almeida Camara. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and watching her 14 grandchildren.
Alzira is survived by her children; Joseph Camara (wife Cynthia), Maria Fatima Pavao (husband Mario), Maria Salome Ferreira (husband Antonio), Maria Dos Anjos Silva (husband Adelino), and Natalie Baptista (husband Helio), daughter-in-law Ilda Camara, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late John Camara, sister of the late Manuel Jorge Ferreira and Maria Da Conceicão Silva
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. John of God Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours on Sunday from 4-8 P.M.
