Obituary

NORTH CONWAY, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Everett Irving “RED” Elliott, 84, died peacefully on December 12, 2016 at his residence in New Hampshire following a period of declining health.
He was born in Newton on August 23, 1932 the son of the late Maurice Andrew Elliott and Thelma Evangela (tucker) Elliott.
Red is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary B.A. (Hickey) Elliott of North Conway, New Hampshire formerly of Cochituate. Mary and Red celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 1, 2016. He was the father of Mary Frances Anderson of Griswold, CT; Daniel Andrew Elliott of North Andover, ME; John Roger Elliott of Tuscon, AZ; Annemarie Lingley of Cochituate and Nancy Lee Nickinello of South Yarmouth. Brother of the late Roger Q. Elliott. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His last great-grandson was named Everett. Red also leaves four nephews.
Red has been a resident of North Conway, NH for almost 30 years and previously resided in Cochituate for over 35 years. He served his country with pride and honor during the Korean Conflict as a Sergant with the United States Marine Corps.
For over 10 years, he was the co-owner of the Wayland Shell Gas Station in Cochituate and was the current proprietor of Elliott’s Small Engine Repair of North Conway. N.
He loved to travel and spend time with his family. An avid snow-mobile enthusiast, Red belonged to the Mountain-Meadow Risers and the Mount Washington Valley Snowmobile Club in North Conway, NH. He loved to groom the trails and the State of New Hampshire name a snowmobile trail “REDS TRAIL” which went up to Cathedral Ledge in New Hampshire.
He was a member of the VFW Post 11557 of New Hampshire and was actively involved in the organization.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed by his family forever.
Visitations will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte, 30), Cochituate followed by his funeral services at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Hickey-Elliott family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Red’s memory may be sent to the Manchester VA Medical Center, ATTN: Debra Krinsky, 718 Smyth Rd, Manchester, NH 03104 to assist Veterans.
