NATICK: Janet F. (Archer) Glynn, 77 died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 12, 2016 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham after a hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born in Newton on August 24, 1939 the daughter of the late William B. Archer and Mary G. (Rennie) Archer.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, John P. Glynn Sr. of Natick. Loving mother of John P. Glynn Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Milford, Joan C. Groleau and her husband Laurence of Framingham, William A. Glynn of Natick, Mark E. Glynn of Natick, and Janet F. Medeiros and her husband Paul of Natick. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Matthew, Alex, Paul, Cassie, Samantha, Amanda, Jillian, Julia, and John, and two great-grandchildren: Brayden and Layla. She is also survived by her brother, William B. Archer Jr. and his wife Peggy of Florida, sister Carol Weeks and her husband David of Southborough, and sister Evelyn Morris and her late husband, Richard of Framingham, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Janet lived in Natick for over 31 years and spent her formative years in Cochituate. She graduated from Wayland High School with the class of 1957. Before retiring she worked at IDG in Natick. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed time spent at the ocean beaches throughout New England, especially Wingaersheek beach in Gloucester. She was an avid reader and her greatest passion was her grandchildren. She spent much of her time traveling to all their sporting events as she was their biggest cheerleader.
Janet loved having everyone over to the house for family gatherings and lasagna dinners. Her family was the center of her life and they will miss her greatly.
Her family will celebrate her life at a memorial gathering at the Glynn family residence at 35 Porter Road, Natick on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly asks that memorial gifts in Janet’s memory be sent to the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, or Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, as they took such good care of her.
