BEVERLY: Donna J. (Gibson) Astroff, 62, died peacefully Tuesday, December 13, 2016 after a long illness at her home in Beverly. She was the devoted wife of Mark B. Astroff.
Born in Brighton on July 26, 1954, she was the loving daughter of William C. Gibson and the late Barbara J. (Mackay) Gibson.
Donna was raised in West Peabody. In her youth she enjoyed singing and won many talent shows. She was a graduate of Salem State College. Donna always enjoyed spending time with children and worked as a 1st grade teacher for many years prior to managing an orthodontic practice. In recent years she enjoyed doting on her niece and pampering her beloved dog, Spencer before losing her courageous battle.
In addition to her husband of twenty-six years and her father, she was the cherished sister of Christopher S. Gibson and his wife, Kerry of Tewksbury and adoring auntie of Elisabeth. She is also survived by many loving cousins, extended family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
